Compressor Rebuilds

Resurrection: An "Obsolete" Compressor Back in Service for Less Than a New One

Both stages damaged, the controller stripped for parts, and years out of service. The Fischer Group rebuilt it with new rotors and a TFG Allen Bradley PLC control system, below the OEM cost of replacement.

When we take on a project like this, we do not approach it with limitations. We approach it with possibilities. This compressor is a true resurrection, brought back from what many would have called the point of no return.

I have said it before, and this project is another example: the OEM had declared this compressor obsolete and beyond economic recovery. Both stages were badly damaged, the original controller had been stripped for parts, and the unit had been out of service for years. By conventional standards, replacement looked like the only practical option.

We saw it differently.

What it took

Through a complete engineering and rebuild effort, we installed new rotors, did a full as-new overhaul, and replaced the outdated controls with a new TFG Allen Bradley PLC-based control system. The compressor is back in service with modern controls, renewed mechanical components, and the reliability and performance you would expect from a new machine.

Even more important, we did it for less than the OEM would charge to replace it with a new unit of the same model.

Value where others see replacement cost

That is what makes projects like this so rewarding. We are not simply repairing equipment. We are extending the life of significant capital assets, restoring production capability, and creating value where others may only see a replacement bill.

Our service team makes me incredibly proud. I am fortunate to work alongside some of the most capable, creative and determined people in this industry. Their willingness to take on difficult equipment, find solutions and see a project through is what sets this organization apart.

I would welcome the chance to sit down with you and talk through the options and what The Fischer Group can bring to your next project. Whether the equipment is considered obsolete, uneconomical to repair, or simply beyond what others will take on, there is always value in looking at what can be done before deciding what needs to be replaced.
