Centrifugal Compressor Overhauls & Rebuilds

Centrifugal compressor overhauls are the core of what The Fischer Group does. Complete teardowns, aerodynamic component inspection and restoration, gear case rebuilds, bearing and seal work, upgraded aerodynamic ratings where needed, and full recommissioning, performed in-field for large machines or in our shop when teardown space is the limiting factor. Many companies, including the OEM, would write off older centrifugal equipment as obsolete. We bring it back.

The Fischer Group services every major make and model of industrial air compressor: centrifugal, reciprocating, and rotary screw. Field service is the first call for most customers: lockout, troubleshooting, valve work, bearing replacement, oil and seal service, alignment, cooler work, and controls verification. Larger scopes move into complete overhaul territory. We also supply spare gear-case assemblies to customers running matched compressors, eliminating the need for costly rental units during planned or emergency rebuilds.

Older and unsupported equipment gets the same engineering attention as current platforms. Post-rebuild, we pair mechanical work with a controls review so the machine being saved is also easier to run and protect. Vibration analysis is available as a diagnostic service to catch developing failures (bearing wear, gear mesh problems, and rotor imbalance) before they become emergencies.
